But of course I am, therefore I fail to see your point. Long Term investing implies having the patience to reach what you believe to be the future of the entity you invest your money. Surely MSFT and INTC have had a better upward trend than Sun if you go back to 100 months (about 2 years). However you should also realize that this was during the time Java and this whole idea of thin client, server centric concept was unknown and still an infant, and during which the computing world consisted of only desktop PC (i.e. WIntel). And I did enjoy a great return from that upward trend for a while till about 9 months ago when I sold all my shares in both INTC and MSFT and bought more of SUNW.

As the concept of computing being only the desktop PC becomes to belong to history books and an old concept, the longer term prospects for Sun becomes much much much brighter than those of Intel or Microsoft (Actually of the Microsoft Intel camp, Intel will continue to have a better brighter future than Microsoft - that is if IBM is unsuccessful in its attempt to replace Intel)!

Therefore in my view the longer term prospects for Sun is much better and from an investment point of view one can have a much much higher return if she/he invested in SUNW (or for that matter as you also mentioned LSI Logic) rather than either or both of Microsoft/ Intel!
