yaetmo uses the following alibi for his tracking down a private citizen/public employee: What I stumbled onto was in intruder. Then I did nothing more exotic than turn the lights on and see who it was.

An intruder? On a public message board? How can anyone be an "intruder" on a public message board?

But ok, as long as you want so much to tell us all about it, questions:

As for your doing "nothing more exotic", I've seen references to your reporting his use of the computer to his boss and trying to have him fired. I don't know if it's true, just something I'm sure I've read. Is it true that he was reported to the boss? Was he fired? Was he reprimanded? Was his computer taken away? Was he instructed to cease and desist? Or do you suppose his boss tossed your complaint into file 13, the one for nutcase complaints that he/she doesn't have time for?

Additionally, How did you see it as YOUR personal mission to track down where he was posting from, and why? What did he possibly say that would make you take it upon yourself to personally track down another poster? Are you in law enforcement? If so, what crime did you suspect this poster may be committing by posting something on a worldwide internet investment message board forum that you didn't agree with? If it hadn't been a state computer, would you have felt that anything untoward was being done that entitled you to this person's personal information? Do you often do this kind of thing for your own personal and vengeful reasons? How can it be anything other than personal? Is it even legal for private citizens to do this?

Just some thoughts. Thank you for your offer. Take your time.
