Suma -

Many years ago I became ill while on vacation in Sweden. It's socialized medicine, and the clinic was clean, had modern equipment, and was staffed with excellent doctors and nurses. Even as a visitor in the country, I got excellent, prompt care.

It's not impossible.

I would also point out that if you are paying 1,000 bucks a month in medical insurance, you might well be able to get the same level of care for less money paid out in taxes. For one thing, you wouldn't be contributing to the profits of the insurance company.

Our medical care costs as much as it does because every link in the chain involves someone making a profit.
