Congratulations on your service.

No I cannot say I was allowed to serve. When my cousin went for his second tour, I became old enough to enlist. I was born in Canada, but I went to the Niagara Falls Recruitment office and signed the required papers, but I didn't get in.

So how do you feel when people shit on the American flag? How do you feel when they burn soldiers in effigy?

As for my being for any war, that just isn't true. But I do not see any way to get out of Iraq, without creating the same crap we saw when the US left Vietnam. I don't think the grandstanding of the Democrats is a help and by cutting off the funding, I believe the Democrats are using the American Military as pawns in a race for the presidency. The war is on, How would you solve this without the death of more people than Saddam killed?

My personal belief is that many of the problems we face started with the failure to prosecute Muslim War Criminals in WWII. Had the complicity of Islamic leaders been acknowledged and prosecuted in 1945, the Middle east might be much more like Europe today. I believe that Carter's inaction made things worse not better, much like a child who uses rage as an attention getting device.
