Speaking of crying "Uncle", my news alerts are saying that New Century did just that this morning, filing for BK protection. Since New Century is #2 in subprime (albeit arguably), this development, though widely anticipated by many traders, will undoubtedly negatively affect the rest of the publicly traded companies with subprime portfolios. I even see that some of the "gurus" are calling for the subprime virus to start "infecting" stocks on the periphery of subprime, such as home improvement stocks, furniture stocks, insurance stocks, etcetera... EK!!!
