thank you for sharing Iktomi

that your mother survived 4 cancers is inspiring

doctor number 1 wants to do a total mastectomy yesterday, then chemo for 3 months and then radiation for another 3

doctor #2 wants to start chemo in 3 weeks, evaluate the results in 2 to 3 months - if there is any shrinkage he would then do a lumpectomy, followed by radiation - if no shrinking of the tumor, then a total mastectomy and radiation

doctor #1 thinks there was no tumor in the september mammogram, hence it is fast growing

doc #2 thinks it 'probably' was there, but didn't show up because her breast tissue is so dense

it definitely showed up in the week ago mammogram

the tumor is irregular shaped - described like "a spill of coffee on the table"

both will remove the nearest lymph nodes

both have offered reconstruction - for even if only a lumpectomy, the tumor is so large it will disfigure her breast

she is very thin

I would like to ask why your friend would not recommend the reconstruction - my guess is there are side effects from it to this day
