CHICKEN SAVED. The lost has been found. I walked the woods for the 2nd time into the further reaches---then went again back to the spot of its disappearance---and under some brush within a foot of my feet 'twas the chicken, 'keepin as quiet as she could. Good for her! She knew she was in the wilderness of lostness. So chicken and I had a fine reunion and she was grateful to be back in the safety of her home. And fortunate. In the analogy, I don't pretend to be God---but it certainly is a picture of what God does for us when we get out of the "fold"---God is doing the seeking and we are doing the running and hiding. Reminds me of a time I went to see a young couple I had led to our LORD Jesus Christ. I knocked on the door and their little three year old boy opened it, looked through the screen and instead of opening it and letting me in, he went running into the other room and at the top of his lungs he announced to his folks: "God is here!"
