I think you are partially correct in your assessment. yet I believe it's more a collateral benefit than one of design.

The Iranian sword is slowly being returned to it's sheath and the price of crude is tumbling.....they could have carried this melodrama alot longer and kept crude at levels that would have shot beyond $75 within a week. Think of the millions of barrels they export each day; their coffers would have been swelled to a degree that would have made the mullahs cream in their gowns.

No, these guys prefer to wallow in blood rather than oil.
