In the meantime, environmentalists and state officials say the ruling opens the door for states to move ahead with regulating greenhouse gas emissions from cars. A dozen states, led by California, have adopted or are in the process of adopting such rules.

The only way to reduce CO2 emissions from an internal combustion engine is to make it smaller and less powerful (real pollution is a different story and has been essentially eliminated already).

I wonder what sort of exemptions they'll carve out to allow the Hollywood and Beverly Hills and Silicon Valley eco-libs to keep driving their big BMW's and Mercedes' and Ferrari's? They trot out their Prius's for photo ops, but you know damn well that what takes up most of the space in their multi car garages is what the "beautiful people" drive, and these just happen to pump out the most CO2.

It will be fun to see what these "f"ing hypocrites come up with. Of course if they can force the "little people" to ride the bus or bicycles, that will work just fine..
