But we already knew that.

The most mercury a CF bulb can contain is 6 milligrams. Now, lets assume that there have been 1 billion bulbs used and discarded, probably a vast overstatement. That means a max. of 6 million grams or 6,000 kilograms, about 6.6 tons.
