I understand and agree with the "no about" rule, at least when it deals with personal attacks against him, its cowardly to attack people who can't fight back.

But why the "no to" rule?

His ideas and arguments exist independently of him. If he's made them here the ideas and arguments are out there, and perhaps some of them should be responded to.
