First, I don't believe I've ever said that Americans are racist. They are, of course, but so is everybody else (on average). In fact I have often made the case in conversation here in NZ that Americans are actually less racist than many other cultures (e.g. Japan) because they are much more ethnically diverse than most other peoples. What I have said online, and I'll say it again, is that the although racism is very frowned on in the US (un-PC), it has become acceptable to indulge in racist rhetoric against Muslims, Arabs in particular. The Arabs are the new Jews, in the sense that a century ago nobody minded what you said against Jews, and now they don't mind what you say against Arabs.

Second, the experience of the Indians in what became the USA is well documented. I realize that it isn't taught in schools, and that many United Statians are pretty ignorant of the less savoury details of their history, but there it is.

Third, my personal experience with races other than my own has no bearing on any of this.
