American Idol Results – Gina Glocksen Eliminated By Joe Reality on American Idol
Surprisingly, host Ryan Seacrest opened the American Idol top nine results show without making any reference to Sanjaya Malakar's hair. For the American Idol Ford Music Video, the remaining finalists performed "One Love." Afer the Ford Music Video, Seacrest announced that the American Idol songwriters contest started today and would last for the next two weeks.
For this week's elimination, the American Idol top nine finalists were divided into three groups of three on stage. The group of Jordin Sparks, Melinda Doolittle, and Lakisha Jones was the first group announced as safe. The group of Blake Lewis, Chris Richardson, and Sanjaya Malakar was the second group announced as safe. The group of Phil Stacey, Haley Scarnato, and Gina Glocksen was the bottom three.
After a reminder about Idol Gives Back, Ryan Seacrest revealed that Tony Bennett would not be performing because he came down with the flu. Instead Michael Buble performed "Call Me Irresponsible." After his performance, Michael Buble asked Ryan Seacrest if he was wasting his votes by still voting for Antonella Barba, and Seacreast said "No, I do the same thing."
After a commercial break, Phil Stacey, Haley Scarnato, and Gina Glocksen stood alone on center stage. Ryan Seacrest sent Phil Stacy back to safety, so it came down to Haley Scarnato and Gina Glocksen. When asked for his opinion, Simon Cowell said "I'm not surprised." After just under 33 million votes, Gina Glocksen was eliminated from American Idol. |
