So let me get this straight. Nokia has sent a payment to Qualcomm or had promised a payment to Qualcomm in an amount that Nokia has deemed appropriate? Isn't that like me walking into Home Depot and handing the cashier $20 and walking out with what I think I should get for $20 despite what the current market rate is for those products? Isn't this totally absurd?

What are the mechanics of this? Does Nokia send a check for $20 million to Qualcomm with a note saying "Thanks for the WCDMA IPR?"

I'm totally baffled by this. Can this be any bigger of a farce?

Someone please enlighten me.
