Not only didn't apologize but was proud of the hit. Stingley even refused to condemn the guy or say anything bad about him when he was told of Tatum losing legs to diabetes complications. Others said what goes around, comes around. Stingley talked of the pain of watching his own father die of complications and felt sorry for Tatum.
