I started smoking when I was 15. By the time I went into the Marine Corps I was doing 2 packs of Lucky Strikes a day. A "deck" of Luckies, as they were known in the barracks. Nearly everyone smoked back then. I did for only some 7 or 8 years. I quit to save the money. It was a difficult thing for me to give them up and it was all of 3 years before I finally realized how terrible they tasted. Never went back after that. That was well over 47 years ago. I can't stand to be in the vicinity of a smoker today.
