.Tech stocks ended the day mixed with notable weakness in the semiconductor stocks stemming from Advanced Micro Devices' announcement that losses would be greater than expected... Intel provided some relief, though, dispelling the rumor that it would be pre-announcing an earnings shortfall... Nasdaq volume was its heaviest ever with nearly 1 billion shares changing hands.
