<<A lot of people will worry about the election on Oct. 8th
and 9th.

I don't get it. The parlament is communist right now, and was always
communist so far. So it can't get worse. The power is with the
president. Everybody
knows this. These elections are non-event. Things could get better
with the laws if less communists are elected. I don't see the red
light - that is, political red light. I would see big red light if
Mr. Ziuganov is ever elected president. Hopefully not. Last time
around everybody didn't like Yeltsin. Chechnya was an important factor. He had a good campaign, however, and also people realised
that he was the only real chance against communists. Next time around there will be no Yeltsin - so, hopefully, no negative feelings against the democrat candidate. Negative feelings against communists will
remain. Many people who remember communism remember it with
horror. -Vi
