We saw commies everywhere. Problem was history shows we were often right in our fears but wrong in our policies to counter those fears. Those were the days we could have spent a lot of money to help vulnerable democracies survive rather than help the militaries and other landed interests to take over.
Tell me a little about Lumumba and the Congo situation? What would have happened without the US?
