I don't know of anyone who claims Jordan started the six day war. Israel clearly did with the air raids on Egypt. The fact that Jordan joined in after Israel started it was pretty much insured by Israeli actions in late 1966 on Jordan.

According to King Husseins memoir, he made a big mistake in listening to Nasser who neglected to mention that he no longer had an air force, instead of listening to Levi Eshkol's pleas to stay out of it. He sorta had to admit that much because the Israelis had bugged the convesation and published it.

Israel definitely did the first strike against Egypt, but let's not forget that Egypt had 900,000 troops massed in the Sinai for several weeks by then. There had been some UN peacekeepers, but Nasser told them to go and they obediently went, prompting Abba Ebban to ask, "What use is a fire brigade that vanishes at the first sign of smoke and flame?"
