Disappointed to learn : Pete du Pont was lying re : sunspots (?) .............................

I finally got around to doing some Internet checking on sunspot information.

csep10.phys.utk.edu

ftp://ftp.ngdc.noaa.gov/STP/SOLAR_DATA/SUNSPOT_NUMBERS/YEARLY.PLT

--------------------------------------------------------------

I actually took more than one astronomy course while at high school and college, and ...

in the Fall semester of the 1975 - 1976 school year, our project to calculate the rotational period of the Sun was made impossible by the lack of sunspots.

(This is confirmed by the data in one of the websites, so I assume the data is "legit.")

(We were eventually given data from a "good" year for sunspots ...)
