Hypothetically what would have happened in the region if Hussein had stayed out? He would have held the WB? Would the israelis have given him gaza and would he have wanted that? Probably not. There would have been a deal on EJ and jews would have become free to visit. That might have taken Jerusalem off the table as an issue as a split Jerusalem with access for both sides should have satisfied both sides in the pre-Likud days. Another question, right after 67, did the israelis take over running gaza. I cant remember what happened to gaza post 67.
