To think that Muslims are benign is simply delusional.

Hm. Christians haven't always been "benign," but western society eventually was able to reign in the over-zealous spreading of the Good News. In the long run, just as we did with Christianity, free-thinking people will get things worked out with Islam -- if we can just survive the short run.
