4/5/07 Update While I was enjoying my NYC visit the past couple of weeks, the bulls threw a little party on Wall Street (do you think, in my honor?). Both the Nasdaq Biotech Index and Charity Contest portfolios showed good gains, with the NBI closing the week up 1.36% YTD (vs. down -2.87% YTD two weeks ago)and the Contest portfolios' median closing up 1.51% YTD (vs. down -2.02% YTD two weeks ago). At week's close, 18 of the 31 Contest portfolios were in the black and 16 of the 31 were beating the NBI. As I feared, there is no chivalry among the SI biotech freaks and a full five took advantage of my absence to sneak ahead of me in the contest. (For those thinking I got my just desserts for leaving, I won't deny that I devoured a half-dozen, fresh-from-the-oven madeleines at the Café Boulud. Oh, how I suffered!) Currently in the lead is PGONEIL, whose Dendreon-driven portfolio is up 28.1% YTD. And with a portfolio hopped up by ACAD, MOPGCW is in second place with a 22.2% YTD gain. Portfolio Adjustments: ADZA, only in Wilder's portfolio, was bought for $24 a share. Wilder, I'd appreciate your help to reallocate the proceeds of the buyout. Have a terrific Easter weekend everyone! Below is the Top Ten list on 4/5/07:
