My stepmom was 84 and was in a rest home for about 2 months. She did not break her hip but had arthritis in it and had been in much pain.

She is doing better now but still can't move around like the old days................what can you expect in your late eighties?

She can only get out of a car once in any given trip. Her pain is gone so that's a good thing.
