BRUSSELS (AFP) - Global warming could create tens of millions of climate refugees, although numbers are hard to predict with accuracy and the definition itself is open to debate, experts say.

"According to some estimates, there are already almost as many environmentally displaced people on the planet as traditional refugees," said Yvo de Boer, executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

How many climate refugees there are today and could be in the future remains unclear, and the term itself is considered by critics to be unreliable or politically charged.



I'll say! There's no limit to how many people you can put in THAT basket. Got a drought? Climate Change! Beach erosion? Climate Change! Storms? Climate Change!

Talk about your one-size-fits-all answer.

Look, the climate has always changed and will always change. That much we know. But half of this climate change nonsense is based on the assumed premise of environmentalism: that nature was is some perfect balance before stupid humans showed up to wreck it.

Of course the scientists know better. But when you look at the message being put out in schools and by the activists, the assumption is always there. And why not? It works great! If everything was in balance before humans messed with in, then it's your fault SO PAY UP!

What is this introduction of a new category of refugee, the "climate change refugee" but the latest verse on this old tune?
