so how come it was 40s day time high in Philly in spring time (I was there last week), and in San Jose even now I need the heater turned on at night ? Such a comment is why scientists don't take the average global warming denier seriously. I can only assume you think the comment was intelligent. It is far from it. Even a decade of cool temps does not mean much. Look at the fluctuations in the data, you see several year to decade long variations all over the place. Global warming is shifting the average higher, it does not say that this year is going to be hotter than last year. It might set a 100 year low.
