I only really liked about 5% of it, which is about my average with any genre.

After working at the Fab Mab, as we called it, I moved to New York and got a job in a jazz club. I got a wonderful education in jazz there, and was privileged to get to know some of the very finest musicians in the world. Our booking agent was Stanley Crouch, who appears Ken Burns' Jazz series as one of the historical experts.

Even at the time, I appreciated that music. I know brilliance when I hear it. But I love it even more now.

Recently I've started listening to Diana Krall a lot. I like her renditions of standards, but I like the songs she co-wrote with her husband Elvis Costello even more. They are on her album of a couple of years ago, "The Girl in the Other Room". Just a great, great recording.
