i couldn't begin to guess what they will earn this year, that was my point...no one knows what they will earn they gave their best estimate based on the lower gain on sale margins they are seeing, and the conditions that will prevail for the time being...i don't see what else you would want them to do...i guess they could just withdraw all guidance, but i don't see how that serves anyone's best interests things may worsen, but the situation hasn't changed nearly as substantially as your post implied...as someone else posted here, if anyone owned this stock thinking that the earnings guidance and dividend yield were 100% assured, they were kidding themselves
