Sure, Vonage has issues, but there are a ton of other companies just like Vonage who have their own unique patents and are not subject to the Verizon suit. Also, Vonage is on the higher end of the cost structure. Other VOIP plans are cheaper.

Anyway, just you watch. When IPTV becomes a reality, there will be all sorts of changes that are only just barely imagined today. Running anything over the Internet has an immediate democratization effect on that product, which drives prices inexorably downwards. The same thing will happen to cable bills, once IPTV starts to gain major market share.
