Nappy is actually a fine word:

Young women and men with nappy hair should not be made to feel as if their hair type, or a word describing it, is an insult. That, imo, would be racist- or on Mr Sharpton's part, regrettable self hate.

I think NO women, of any color, deserve to be described as hos. In my opinion even sex workers deserve to be respected. After all, there would be no such work were it not for men's desires- the same men, often, who need to denigrate the women who serve these desires. Again, it stems from guilt and self hate for having those desires, and anger at the women who serve them, and probably anger at women for being the object of desire.

IMO what has been overlooked in this episode is the rather virulent element of anger at women that runs through this culture- and that is not a race or color issue. You see it in the abuse women politicians take (both Hillary and Rice- whose femininity and looks and sexuality are CONSTANTLY called in to question), and the way these young women from Rutgers were described. This culture, imo, has much about it that is sick in the way it objectifies and categorizes women.
