"As you've probably noticed the ETSI IP database is a bit tricky to search. Searching on the patent title 'Reverse Link, Transmit Power Correction' in that database turns up patent number 0695482 (European Patent Office, SPAIN, FRANCE, UNITED KINGDOM, ITALY, SWEDEN) ..."

European Patent 0695482 is no longer considered ESSENTIAL IPR.

"On 29 November 2006, Qualcomm Inc. has requested ETSI to withdraw the following IPR from the ETSI IPR Online Database: Patent No.: EP 0695482; Patent No.: DE 69520812.8; Patent No.: US 5,452,473; Patent No.: ZL95190118.4.

Qualcomm Inc. has been caused to re-examine thoroughly the essentiality of this patent family in the course of patent litigation and as a result does not consider that these patents are Essential IPRs.

Following this request, ETSI has removed the above mentioned Patent numbers from the above declaration.

As the FRAND argument then doesn't apply that might actually be to Qualcomm's advantage ... if Nokia indeed infringes.
