A lot of these people are bullies, and make life worse for some people.

But a lot of them are not. In my experience they are mostly just getting through life as best they can. I believe everyone wants pretty much the same thing, security, a solid roof over their heads, a better future for their children.

We all want the same things, but there is a problem in communication.
