Given all of the money involved----Presidents and Political Parties can easily become the puppets of the extreme wealthy.

Instead of debates by the Presidential Candidates why not have the big money backers such as Soros debate each other. Then we would know their philosophies and goals for America and likely the world.

Watched Obama on Letterman last night-----he brought to mind a word that I value in politics and often find wanting.

That is "trust"----thus far there is not a candidate in either party to which I would apply that word.

The big question for me with Obama is how he would remain loyal to America while applying his international background that is said to be such a plus for him.

I am not convinced that Obama's background has an international quality or is a plus. Yes, he has lived in Indonesia and the United States.

He has studied the Koran and Muslim religions and the Christian religion in Chicago.

He has been a community organizer, went to Harvard and wrote a couple of books. He has led anti-war demonstrations, did some drugs, recently stopped smoking and is chewing nicoret to avoid the issues of withdrawal.

Somehow he was chosen to give the keynote speech at the Dem Convention in Chicago------showcasing him for further political aspirations by the Democrats.

I ask ----So What???

What I can trust Obama to do is to abide by the socialist line of government control over every aspect of our lives beginning with the universal health care that he espouses.( This is an irony considering he has pretty much lived his life being uncontrolled.)

His other issue is getting out of Iraq---------his is such an overly simplified viewpoint for putting political pressure on the current administration and indirectly or maybe directly on America.

Why should I trust him to handle truly major decisions that must be handled on a daily and hourly basis by the President?

This is a question that I will be applying to Obama and all of the other candidates in making my final decision in voting for President in 2008.
