Imus Hoopla

While I consider Don Imus’s radio broadcast remarks about the Rutgers women’s basketball team in poor taste, the hoopla being raised illustrates the degree of hypocrisy that exists in our country today.

If, and that’s a big IF, you can tolerate listening to any number of hip-hop/rap music? for very long, about every other word is much more demeaning to black women and women in general than what Imus said.

I don’t aim to condone what Imus said, I don’t even listen to or care for his show. But where is the outrage about rap song lyrics spewing the same stereotypical demeaning language and worse? Why is the ire of the Reverends Jesse Jackass or Al Sharptongue not directed towards the rappers? Oh, I guess they leave the dirty work to Bill Cosby.
