So now Pelosi wants to go to Iran~She's off her rocker!..Pelosi’s Foreign Policy

macsmind.com

I have a very simple problem with the Speaker of the House engaging in foreign policy and “opening dialogs” with foreign powers. That is that she is nothing more than a representative from a very small segment of the American population. She represents a congressional district in California. She was not elected by the people of this country and has no authority to speak for them. We did not put her into office nor can we vote her out of office. The President, on the other hand, is a nationally elected office.

Mrs. Pelosi, you do not speak for me or even the majority of the population of California or even the Bay Area for that matter. You speak for one very small portion of it. Evidently one small piece of California has hijacked the foreign policy of the United States of America. If the Speaker is going to engage in Foreign Policy on behalf of the people of the United States, then the office should be answerable to the people of the United States. If the Speaker is to represent us to foreign powers then the office should be elected at large by the entire population of the United States.

What set me off into this tizzy was reading in the San Francisco Chronicle that Pelosi is considering a trip to Iran:
sfgate.com

>>>>>>>>(04-10) 18:42 PDT — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Tom Lantos, D-San Mateo, just back from a trip to Syria that sparked sharp criticism from Republicans and the Bush administration, suggested Tuesday that they may be interested in taking another diplomatic trip - to open a dialogue with Iran.

The Democratic speaker from San Francisco and Lantos, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, were asked at a press conference in San Francisco Tuesday whether on the heels of their recent trip to the Middle East they would be interested in extending their diplomacy in the troubled region with a visit to Iran.<<<<<<<<<<<<

To say that I am outraged is an understatement. Mrs. Pelosi, you have no authority to speak for anyone outside of your San Francisco district. Please mind your mandate. This is arrogance that is beyond the pale.
