I find it hilarious that you have to create a straw man just to accuse others of "straw man arguments." You've done it before, and you're doing it now.

Now tell me why some in California are considering releasing a convicted murderer who's sentenced for life. Because the prisons are overcroweded? Because his health care costs the state too much? Because he's supposedly too old to cause any more trouble, and he's paid enough to society?

So far, neither Ted nor Z agreed with that view, which is fine by me. But the questions are being asked.
