It has been a long and painful road.

Due to the refusal to accept superior technology by POS handset makers, and their associates in the service industry, as well as the anti-competitive/protectionist EU cabal, 3G is and has been in stall mode for years hoping to drag this out....... assumedly waiting for essential patents to expire. They can't do 3G without QUALCOMM's technology........you know it, I know it, they know it.

I have been reading this board for eight years........QUALCOMM is the reason I joined SI.....and although I don't understand most of the technical aspects, to a great extent I do understand what NOK et al. have been doing, and realize that thier tactics have affected my investment. To what extent I'm not sure, but I am sure the people of the world would be enjoying and utilizing advanced telephony capabilities to a much greater extent if these games had not started in the first place, and NOK and their buddies, as well as QUALCOMM investors would all be enjoying the profits.

Obviously, that is not how the world works but wouldn't it be interesting to understand what or whether losses have accrued, and to what extent?

In the past, QUALCOMM was compared to MSFT. I don't see the comparison at all. Although QUALCOMM is miles ahead technologically when it comes to utilizing air waves, it is treated more like Linux....horning in on someone else's territory.

The technology is there and the will to implement is there. I'm not sure how much people want or need 3G...and beyond...... but it's about time we find out.
