Robert G re #6773- You wrote "There are a lot posts on the thread about how it is completely acceptable to lie to Kafir" which, I believe is based on the principle of "taqiya" (spelling assumed). C'mon, I read all the anti-jihad stuff about Muslim behavior and if you believe every Muslim is a follower of these principles, you will never believe any Muslim, ever. Do you know any Muslims? This issue is unfortunate, because I have seen commenters on Jihadwatch.org write off M. Zudhi Jasser's writings as taqiya, based on their belief that all Muslims practice all of the negative aspects of islam.
I think you know where I stand on islamism and believe it's the small, or nonexistent voice of the "moderates" which allows wholesale muslim hatred and suspicion to fester. It's terrible that the public doesn't seem to realize how islamism is drowning out the peaceful, freedom loving voice. As you read, I'm sure, the loud islamists and the saudi-funded, islamist-leaning advocacy groups are the ones with political clout. Because of this we have Westerners changing their actions and behaviors to avoid offending the islamists. It's baffling.
