Do you know any Muslims?

I've related this story before, but I'll repeat it. When I attended U of A in Tucson I had several Muslim friends although they did not seem devout. Used to throw down a lot of beers and stuff like that. Anyway, one day while drinking, my Syrian buddy out of nowhere tells me I'm evil and America is evil. I was pretty dumbfounded. Anyway, I didn't really care too much. I continued to hang out and drink with those guys until I left school there. My favorite out of the group was a Kurd named Sal. He was riot.

Since then, I have not had the opportunity to hang out with any Muslims, but yes I have spent hundreds of unguarded hours with them.

I believe most Muslims really do hate Westerners and our society, and would like to see it crumble. If the majority do not believe as the extremists do, they should speak up. I find their silence repugnant and suspicious. I don't know if they are thinking what my Syrian friend thought and are just being quiet. Despite his comment, I thought Mahmoud was pretty good person, but seemed very confused and homesick.

So that is where I stand.
