Kids always say adults are hypocrites. The US is a world power and is expected to have a foreign policy. And being a world power it matters what that policy is. Pretty much everyone expects the US to have a foreign policy that tries to improve the stability of the world. Thats a tough thing to do since there are a lot of folks who want instability that will favor their cause. Quite often in the real world, a choice must be made between the lesser of two evils. All in all, the US is almost certainly one of the most benigh world powers in human history. It is not perfect of course. Perfection isn't possible in this world.
