Excellent points, Slider is 110% correct. Many in media also agree, but are too timid to state this. All of us have witnessed similar behaviour, and the observation that too many white teenagers are adopting the same "gangsta-rap" black culture, behaviour, appearance, language, and attitudes. Its considered "cool" these days. White America is losing its cultural identity because we have been bombarded from birth with the guilt trip over slavery that was perpetrated hundreds of years ago.
My ancestors owned no slaves. My ancestors did not profit from slavery. My ancestors fought in the Civil War for the North, and I lost 3 great uncles who died fighting for the Army of the Potomac at Gettysburg, Petersburg, and Shiloh.
Lets face it folks, while America and the media have been focussing on the Rutgers women's basketball team and Don Imus for the last week, much more important issues facing us rage on incessantly: Iraq and the mideast continue to go down the toilet, our national debt continues to skyrocket, and our open borders allow thousands of illegal immigrants free access to the US.
Our culture and values are rotting to the core, and the world sees it. We listen to politicians bought by global corporations, preach of "American values", when those are days past. Most Americans watch this "war on terror" on TV, fought by a rapidly breaking volunteer Army and Marine Corps, there is no shared sacrifice in this country for this war. It's silly for an American President and this Congress to continue to expect a volunteer Army to fight this was in this way. Renew the draft or get the hell out of the mideast wars.
From my many travels in Europe and Asian cultures, I come home every time with one observation. I don't see this constant barrage of self-pity in other cultures. African Americans are the most self-centered, spoiled group of crybabies, engaging in constant pity parties, of any ethnic group I have ever encountered in the world. Name any other country where you see Affirmative Action and EEO laws and programs to the extent we have here to protect and give advantage to black Americans. And still they aren't satisfied, and never will be. Every group has had it tough at one time or another, but at some point a group of people must do as Bill Cosby says and quit blaming everybody else for their problems.
The Imus episode makes me sick, watching the gutless hypocrites, as slider correctly calls them, parade on TV and in the press, piling on this issue. This was a basketball team remember? These girls play basketball and go to college, they weren't in the Peace Corps or the military doing some real good for the country. In the end, the Rutgers girls will stand up there with their smug looks on their faces, and not "forgive" Imus, for whatever he does or white Americans do, they will never be "forgiven". Then they will go back to practicing basketball with their favorite hiphop or rap music playing in the background or the locker room or their dorm rooms. Give me a break.
my final advice to all readers: get your assets out of US dollars, cuz we are witnessing the destruction of a culture, and when China decides to stop funding this drunken party by buying US Tsys, it won't be pretty when the mob starts fighting for the lifeboats.
