Why was it worth it? Cyrix is continually losing money or at best is making peanuts.

If they would have taken that money and bought Intel stock, they could
have QUADRUPLED their money and would now own half a billion dollars in Intel stock.


Now you are being silly. If a farmer bought Intel stock instead of seed for his fields, he would have QUADRUPLED the money, but you would have nothing for dinner.

If a company making toilet paper invested in Intel stock instead of their machines, ... you get the picture (I hope).

If the world was suddenly without food and toilet paper, the only use for your Intel stock certificates would be to wipe your ass them.

Just because other companies' stock didn't quadruple in short period of time, it doesn't mean that what they do is not worthwile.
