A similar childhood for me. I lived in an unincorporated small town just northeast of Denver. Dirt road out front and a big piece of entertainment was the once a month drive by of the road grader. He would go up one side of the road, then about an hour later he'd come back down the other side. We walked to school, of course, which was about a mile away. We went barefoot in the fall (spent the summer always barefoot) and many of the other kids did as well. Money had nothing to do with it, it was just what all of us did. It sounds very Tom Sawyer today.

I don't think cholesterol had been invented back then. LOL
