Here's my take:
--He was a fool to say it.
--He probably said it because he's used to making
such comments in a private setting. (Many people lose perspective because they live and work
in cloistered communities of like thinkers.)
--I'm not convinced that termination was called for. Temporary
suspension and apology seemed enough to me.
--The whole political/public debate has become increasingly ugly since 2000 election, which is why so many public figures have become so used to vile language; which also explains the *level* of debate around here....
--He was targeted because his *victims* are from two classes of the population with institutionalized, ready-made complainer/activist structures.
--There is no requirement that *victims* be consistent in their railing or that every stupid idiot with a public forum
is to be called on the carpet for his/her stupidity.

BUT,

Of course I can b*tch to my heart's content about the hyprocrisy of the lefties because, dammit!, it's my free speech right! :-)
