I still cook with lard. I think cholesterol problems are a result of genetics or being a sedentary lard ass. If you are going to sit in a chair all day your going to likely be overweight and have blood problems even if you eat nothing but granola. Also I think your body can break down natural products versus man made. This is the reason I never switched from butter which I now understand is healthier for you then margarine.

Work out and eat what you want within caloric limits and usually there won't be any blood problems.

This is the Jeff theory by the way but it's the way I'm going about it:)
