re: Hence the reason why we put such a high standard of behavior on our troops. We expect them to function reasonably and sanely in an insane environment. Of course, the Muslim "freedom fighters" aren't held to any such standard except how many innocent civilians they can kill and how much they can demoralize the free world.

Hence they are not impressed by our guilt and self-doubt. All they see is weakness, because they play by a much different set of rules than we do. And unfortunately, their rules are more "primal" in nature than ours.

Yes, but our methods are far more technically sophisticated, and more effective. A committed woman with an explosive vest blows herself up to kill a few soldiers. An US Air Force pilot drops a bunker buster bomb in a suspect area. Do they see weakness on our part?

You and I may not see them as "freedom fighters". But how do you think they see themselves? What would it take for you to strap a bomb around your body and end your life to kill other people? Politics? Religion? Patriotism?

I agree they are not "impressed" by our "guilt and self-doubt". Get inside their mind; what's their motivation to sacrifice everything?
