>>> There are plenty of laggards there calling out to be embraced: <<<
Plenty of leaders too!
GSF, PBR, NE, ATW, DVN, SWN, COG, NBL and RRC are just a few.
If the leaders don't lead, the laggards don't follow.
If the sector is going to continue higher, it will be institutional money that drives it higher. Institutions are going to be buying strength for the larger percentage of their holdings. They will only apply a smaller percentage to the laggards.
The leaders will be demand driven in price, because there isn't any overhead supply, causing price to rise much easier than the laggards. The laggards have to deal with overhead supply. All laggards have shareowners still holding losing positions that they are dying to sell once price comes up and relieves them of their pain. This will add downside pressure to price.
A leader with no overhead supply, being demand driven, or a laggard who will have to continue with the tug of war between supply and demand?
I say bet on the leaders. |
