Kazakhstan copper output up 16% in Jan-March

Kazakhstan produced 106,818 metric tons of refined copper in January-March, an increase of 16% compared with January-March 2006, the state statistics agency reported Thursday.

Zinc output increased during the period by 1.1% to 94,373 tons.

Lead output fell 5.4% to 29,917 tons.

Alumina output fell 2.3% on the year to 377,632 tons.
