You called me a liar, then implied this is because I'd denied Kerry has supported veterans over his career. I said nothing of the kind.
As for that botched joke you must understand that what you say is "obvious," IS obvious to us all...it was botched big time! In other words, what you call "the actual" joke is not the joke Kerry uttered. The actual joke he spoke held an obvious meaning quite derogatory to our troops. Hence, the actual statement made by Kerry was botched and not "strong and correct" at all. One might think only Bush could screw-up a line so badly and not even be aware of the problem as it pukes out, but I don't know that he's matched this screw-up. Hence, for Kerry to reply to the resulting criticism by saying "I won't apologize," in any shape or form, was as buffoonish as his actual statement was cluelessly stated, derogatory to our troops, and just boobish boorish behaviour in general. What Kerry intended would be far better received, if he could have simply and plainly apologized for what he actually said in the first place, sans the lengthy dig the hole deeper statement which failed to recognize that "obviously," his "actual" words were deeply offensive.
I mean, here's a guy who promised to carefully measure his words so as not to offend troops! The result is scary indeed!
I should think you would be able to understand this. Oh, I'd think. I'd hope. But, I know better by know. That you fail to admit to the truth of all the above only illuminates a clear split with reality from which you suffer, IMHO.
